Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on the 8th of August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. The actress was inspired by her parents, dentist, and a teacher who were both teachers to pursue her interest in theatre. This was in contrast with her previous desire to become a primateologist because she loved monkeys. Her meteoric rise as an actor in the young age was quick and marked by her early successes. It was only in 1999, when she started acting professionally. Following her studies Tautou participated in the French talent scouting television programme Jeunes Premiers. Tautou attended church and the Institut Catholique de Paris during her early years, but is now separating herself from these upbringings. Neben her acting, Tautou took up modeling and was the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. She is a keen photographer and created a show in The Arles International Festival entitled Superficial. Her photography largely focuses on the spotlight and celebrities and focuses the camera on the media who sat on her shoulders when she exploded to fame in the film Amelie and self-portraits. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first major role starring as a lead character in The Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Pouulain. Amelie received international recognition due to its success at the box office. The film was also recognized in award ceremonies all over the globe. It's the largest French film in the history of French language to be made in the US. In the following year, she appeared in British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Jeunet The long day of the fiancailles. Then Tautou moved to Hollywood where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
